Active Video Games Helps Burn Calories in Kids
Are you worried that your kid just sitting and playing video games in front of a TV or computer. It's time to buy some Active Video Games for him/her.
A new study found out that Active Video Games help buring calories in children. Active Video Games are nothing but Physically Active Video Games.
So, in effect Active Video Games are those video games that allow children to perform some activities insted of just sitting infront of a computer or TV and get lost in the game.
A study conducted by Robin R. Mellecker and Alison M. McManus of the Institute for Human Performance at the University of Hong Kong, showed that children burn nearly four times as many calories playing physically active videos than playing "seated video games".
As the elctronic entertainment is here to stay forever (at least that's how it looks like) as a parent it is our responsibility to buy some active video games along with seated video games.
So, parents it's time to buy some good video games (physically active) for your kids and let them burn calories.
For this kind of games I think you need to have following:
1. A Gaming Console: Playstation, or XBox or Wii by Nintendo. These gaming consoles will come with remotes. These remotes will have sensors which can recognize the direction and movement, there by allowing physical activity.
See following video:
This video is using Wii by Nintendo. To review these products you can use Amazon.com.
I provided some links for Amazon the end of this page.
2. You need to choose the right game that contains the activity part like tennis, baseball or for that matten anything that will allow physical activity.
3. A good projector or bigger screen LCD/Plasma TV will surely add to the fun.
Here are a bunch of links I found in Amazon for the Physically Active Video Games:
Also this website youngcarers.net.au has some information on it. I could not research it now, which I will end-up doing soon. But I am giving this link so that you can go here and find out what it is.
